Fantaspoa, the International Fantastic Film Festival of Porto Alegre, is the first Brazilian film festival dedicated to fantastic cinema, encompassing genres such as horror, science fiction, and fantasy. Since its founding in 2005, Fantaspoa has grown into the largest genre film festival in Latin America, celebrated for its diverse programming and cultural significance.
The festival began modestly with 20 films screened over six days in two venues but has since expanded to a 17-day event featuring over 150 films from around the world.
