About Nordisk Panorama Film Festival (Five Nordic Countries)

    A Celebration of Nordic Cinema

The Nordisk Panorama Film Festival, founded in 1990 by Filmkontakt Nord, is a leading annual event dedicated to showcasing Nordic short and documentary films. Initially rotating among Nordic cities, the festival established a permanent home in Malmö, Sweden, in 2013, where it is held every September.

The festival screens approximately 100 films, celebrating emerging talents and established filmmakers across the Nordic region. Venues in Malmö—ranging from cinemas to libraries and cultural clubs—create an immersive cultural experience for attendees.

Nordisk Panorama is not just a festival but also a platform for industry engagement, featuring two major events:

    • Nordisk Panorama Forum for Co-financing of Documentaries, fostering collaborations between filmmakers and financiers.
    • Nordisk Panorama Market, facilitating distribution and networking opportunities.

Additionally, the organization supports Nordic cinema globally through workshops, seminars, and year-round promotion of Nordic films at international festivals.
