Founded in 2008, Central Film School has established itself as a dynamic training provider dedicated to equipping students from around the world with the tools needed
to become professionals in the screen industries. The school operates from purpose- built facilities in Clapham, having moved to its new home in 2022, and maintains a focused approach as a micro provider of higher education. CFS emphasizes hands-on accelerated programmes taught by active industry practitioners, reflecting its commitment to practical, industry-relevant education. In 2015, the school entered into a strategic partnership with Bertha Foundation, a philanthropic organization that funds documentary features, expanding its offerings to include documentary modules and factual specialisms.
Central Film School provides comprehensive education across filmmaking, screenwriting, and acting for screen, with programs ranging from foundation year through postgraduate qualifications. The school’s curriculum includes cutting-edge specializations such as Post Production & VFX and Virtual Production, reflecting current industry demands and technological advances in filmmaking.
As a micro provider serving approximately 200 students annually, CFS maintains an intimate learning environment that fosters close relationships between students and industry professionals. The school regularly hosts industry talks featuring prominent filmmakers including Oscar-nominated screenwriter Nick Hornby, documentary director George Amponsah, and Sir Ronald Harwood, providing students with direct access to industry insights and networking opportunities.
